What this analysis can and cannot do
Excel and CSV: fully
For an .xlsx or .xlsm we count the sheets, rows, filled cells and formulas, and we see which functions you use, whether it contains macros and whether the file refers to other workbooks. For a .csv we look at columns, empty or duplicate headers and lines that do not add up.
FileMaker: via the Design Report
An .fmp12 is a closed format; without FileMaker nothing meaningful can be read from it, and we would rather not guess. Open your file in FileMaker Pro, choose Tools → Database Design Report, select XML and send that file here. From it we extract tables, fields, relationships, scripts and value lists — without seeing your data, because a Design Report contains the structure, not the content.
What it gives you
When switching, the work rarely lies in the data, but in the logic: formulas, macros and scripts. This analysis shows at a glance how much of that there is. That is also exactly what we do first when someone asks us for a price.
